Study programmes introduce students to a wide range of different subjects, each via engagement with the world's great religious traditions. And, with its excellent record in both teaching and research, the Department is well equipped to help people to a deeper, richer understanding of those same traditions.
At the same time, the study of Christian theology is enhanced by the College's close proximity to Canterbury Cathedral, the centre of the worldwide Anglican Communion. Uniquely situated, the Department is genuinely able to combine the best of both worlds: the lived experience of studying religion and theology in today's society, with the demands and rewards of an excellent honours degree education.

The Department is a warm and friendly community, with a progressive attitude towards student-staff liaison and departmental social activities. Students who come to Christ Church to study Religious Studies or Theology should expect to find societies and events that will add to their enjoyment of their studies. London - and France - are very close, and the Department is ideally situated to arrange occasional trips and visits to places and events that will enhance the time that students spend here.
