HOSPITALITY
A friendly reminder
A large proportion of the College are unaware that, on occasions,
there is a limit to the service that the Catering Department can
provide and that the Student Building (Buttery) is just as able
to provide a similar hospitality service. To avoid any future
disappointments, please advise colleagues to bear this in mind
when ordering hospitality.
The following is provided as general guidelines for colleagues:
- Hospitality can be delivered to any room on the main site
between 9 am and 5pm, Monday to Friday - except for the Main
Foyer, Science Laboratories, computing and music rooms or the
ground and third floors of the Nursing building.
- Catering Services do not have the available resources to deliver
to Glebe House, The Marlowe Centre, The Old Sessions House, Neville
House, Lady Woottons Green or St Gregory's. There is a kitchen
available for use in the St Gregory's Centre which may be booked
at the same time as the hall itself. The Resources Office must
be given the name of a nominated person who will be responsible
for the kitchen and the equipment therein at the time of booking.
By exception, arrangements can be made to provide hospitality
in Old Sessions House if the resources are available on the day.
- After 5pm or at the weekend, hospitality will only be provided
in the SCR, Cloister Room, Main Hall, Ag36 and Af33. Arrangements
can be made for refreshments to be collected from the SCR after
5 pm if preferred. Permission for use of the SCR can be obtained
from The President, Anne Baldwin, extension 2479.
- Hospitality Services are also available from the Student Building
(Buttery). With the agreement of the Student President facilities
within the Student Building such as the South Room, a comfortable
diner seating up to 50 people or Blanthorns, a small function
room for about 15 people can be available at weekends and in the
evening. Buffet style light lunches and sandwich lunches together
with the use of bar facilities makes the Student Building an ideal
alternative to having refreshments in the meeting room. Other
rooms are also available, where hospitality can be provided. The
Food and Beverage Manager is able to provide wine and other beverages
on request. The Buttery, are also able to provide catering services
on request to other buildings within College such as the RFTV
building. Please contact Vicky Allsop, Food and Beverage Manager
or her deputy, Brenda Biddiss on extension 2270 to check availability
before completing a Hospitality Form.
Please remember to use a separate form for each day and forward
to the Catering Department or the Student Building (Buttery) in
plenty of time to meet the requirement (at least 48 hrs notice).
Please note that the Catering Department will surcharge if they
accept a late booking request. If you do not receive a copy of
your hospitality form appropriately authorised before the event,
please contact the Catering Manager on 2238.
