About AV Services

Audio Visual Services is a resource offered by Canterbury Christ Church College Library to assist students and staff at the College in using audio-visual materials and equipment to aid teaching or learning.

Our unit offers a loan service for students at the college, where AV equipment - i.e. camcorders, dictaphones - may be borrowed for use in their studies.

We are also responsible for the AV equipment in lecture rooms, whether that entails maintaining existing equipment or installing specialist equipment for use in a specific lecture. Staff should write or telephone if they have any particular needs for a lecture, stating the date, start and end time and the room number.

The Off-Air Recording service offered by the unit operates under an ERA licence recording broadcast programmes for staff and the Library. Please enter requests using the form that we can supply.

The other area of our responsibility is photography. We maintain a slide collection of photographs taken by us in and around the college for use by staff. The production of slides from text books and such like is also undertaken by us on behalf of staff, subject to the DACS licensing scheme. As well as these undertakings, we take 'mug-shot' pictures of students at the beginning of each year for use in their student records.
